Esther ... Kananu Kirimi
Spike ... Jamie Dodds
Spike, a 15-year old
runaway, is given a home by Esther, a young woman with mental health problems. With Spike's support, Esther gains confidence to sing in a Jazz club, but the
voices that haunt her threaten their fragile existence.
Spike appears to be the stronger of the pair, but mistreatment of the neighbours'
baby reminds him of his own past and the secrets that make him just as vulnerable. This is a story of the healing power of unconditional love.
