Lin Anderson & Tony
Black
I appeared with Tony Black
(Irvine Welsh's favourite crimewriter)
in a sell-out event on opening day of the 2011 Edinburgh
International Book Festival.
Our chair was by
Jenny Brown,
and luckily we hadn't been saying too much about 'Tartan Noir'
before somebody let us know that
William McIlvanney was in the
audience.
Tony was asked about going with a new protagonist in his latest
book, and I confirmed that, with
Picture Her Dead (book eight), I brought to a close many
of the running themes from my recent Rhona MacLeod books.
The evening ended
with my optimistic assertion that, with the dawn of the
age of
e-books, there had never been a better time to be either a
reader or a writer.
